Well Heyro Der!

This past week, was a true blessing. Kyle and Natalia, entered the waters of baptism and recieved the Holy Ghost as well. We were a little anxious for them, as is normal I believe, but they were (and are) ready to have this blessing and responsibility to stand as witnesses of God. The ward Clara Estrella is doing a terrific job of making them loved and at home. Actually, one of the biggest blessings we have seen is that WE now don´t sit by Kyle, rather, Franco and the other young men from the ward are developing a relationship with them.    We´re going the the temple as a mission the 15th of May, and we´re going to prepare them to go. Should be nifty;)
Elder Tait baptized Natalia, and his words were, ¨I baptized a piece of ancient Chilean History,¨ ha, with 80 years, Natalia isn´t young, but has still got a lot of life. It was a lot of fun, for Elder Tait, for them, and for the ward, to have that baptism, and many more are on the way.

We´ve seen a huge blessing, as the ward is ever becoming more and more self reliant.      We´re just beginning to teach a reference from one of the bishop´s daughters, Taña, who has a lot of potential. We haven´t met her family yet, but if we can grow their interest in the gospel, it would be wonderful.
But actually, other than Taña, we really need some new investigatores. Our Lessons have been falling through a little too repitiedly, and so we are reinstating an envigorized search for those who are ready to listen to this wonderful message. Please keep us, Elder Tait, Elderes Mortensen, Tlatelpa, Crider, Lythgoe, Ochagavia, and everyone else, in your prayers, so we can be guided to those whom God has prepared.

God has given us so many wonderful tools to spread his gospel. At times, we shy from using them, we are not perfect, but there is a wonderful happiness from developing our spiritual gifts, blessing the lives of those around us. Alma 29:6-8 PMG 8-9. I'm grateful for the other Elders here in Ochagavia, for their enthusiasm and love for this gospel. Speaking of which! Tomorrow, our ward will recieve 2 more missionaries!!!!!!

That´s it that´s all folks!
Just kidding, also We´ll be available to do skype Saturday, Sunday, or Monday the 11th, 12th, or 13th of May. Is there a day that would be best for you all? Monday might be easiest for us, but in the end, IT´S ALL GOOOOOODDD!!;)

With love,

Elder Tasssssssso!

Dearest Famy Fam!

This week we ate lunch with a member family. I suppose that´s pretty common ha. At times,    it´s all too easy to see the bad, to see the imperfections that plague us all, to see what THEY lack, or to see what WE lack. Lame, right? Well, during lunch, we had the opportunity to steer the conversation away from what we don´t do, or don´t have, etc. and Elder Tait and I we able to say ¨Hey! Lets give 5 compliments, every single one, to eachother right now!¨ It was a true blessing to see the change that occured, and I know that It blessed that family's life. The mother, Marcela, after and during, looked like she was going to cry, I think for relief! Ha, twas' a good experience. Compared to the savior, we all too imperfect, but through his grace, mercy, and love, when can be forgiven. Continuesly, in Conferences passed, there have been several references to seeing the world, members, families, people, investigators, etc. not as they are, but how God sees them, how they can become. Ether 12:4 Moroni 10:32-33

Kyle and Natalia had their baptismal interviews yesterday, sunday! They both passed, and are preparing to be baptized Saturday the 20th at 8:00, and confirmed the next day. You´re all invited! Be there! We´re going to apply a very nifty fancy pants idea called ¨the box¨ that will help them focus on the fundamentals, and on the savior. The ward is truly doing a terrific job of befriending them, and they will be very well taken care of! We are seeing miracles, recieving many references, through converting those who will convert those, who will convert those, who will convert those. etc.

We found an excellent new investigator this past week, Jean Paul. He´s 25+-, and studying, and a lot of fun to talk to because he´s pretty intelligent. He Studies mathematics. We´ve only met with him twice, but to the degree we involve the ward in his conversion, he too will be baptized. Saturday, before we met with him, on the way to his house, there was a whole band of 10-14 year old kids, with their bikes and such. I had a bunch of stickers that i carried around with me in my Book of Mormon, and we gave them all like 3 pass alongs each, and lots of stickers, with catch phrases such as¨bien!¨or ¨Bravo!¨etc. We felt like Jesus, as we were flocked by little children.

We´re changing houses today, and our ward, Clara Estrella, will have 2 more missionaros the 24th! Should be exciting!

As a mission, we´re going to the temple May 14th.

Please continue praying for Elder Tait, Lythgoe, Mortensen, Tlatelpa, Crider- Natalia and Kyle, Jean Paul, Adline, Orlando, Lo Espejo, Clara Estrella, El Llano, and the world!

Which was your favortie conference talk?! Why?

Love you all!

April 8, 2013

Dearest, bestest, family and Friends!

How are you all? We are all (Me, Elder Tait, Mortensen, Mattenson, Alonso, Holy Ghost, the wards, etc.) progressing so much and having a dandy ol´ time here! How amazing was conference, right? Which was your favorite conference talk? Why?

Kyle and Natalia are progressing so very well! The ward has been a tremendous blessing to help us there, due to the fact that the bishop and his daughters are helping them so much! They are excited to be baptized on the 20th!

Mom and Dad- Thank you so much for the habits you enstilled in us as wee children! I know that FHE, studies, didn´t always go as planned, but thank you so much.
Benny Hyrum Anna Stevey- Thanks so much for the letters, for being missionaries, for studying the scriptures with mom and dad- helping them to learn the gospel!! Am I right????!!

Thank you all so much for your support, letters, love, etc!

Why does God want us to ask questions?

We testify, TOGETHER!, that God IS real, loves us so, so much, wants to bless us more than anything. I know that he is our heavenly, spirit father. I know that Christ IS his son, and that through his sacrifice we can always change, always start anew, always be happy, have peace, and feel dandy. I know that this is his church, AND his gospel. They are pretty darn great, eh? I know the Book of Mormon helps us to know our older brother, our example, our savior Jesus Christ, so we can be happy. I know the restoration started through Joseph Smith and continues today through Thomas S. Monson. These things make us happy, bring peace to families, and seal our exaltation as families.
But so what? With whom could you share your light, your testimony, something good> the holy ghost today? Why are we all, so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ?

April 1, 2013 Payasos Somos! Es Decir, payasos del Señor

WELL HEYRO DER!

Today as missionaries for P-day we went to a rather local mall, here in Santiago, Plaza Oeste. It absolutely gigantic, and very similar to the malls in the United States, so, in short, that was rather fun, although to be honest it felt rather worldy! I feel very very blessed to have this gospel, to be serving as a missionary, to have the testimony of the atonement I have.

Kyle and Natalia are progressing very very well. We were able to attend, with them a baptism yesterday, of Vanes from Haiti. We actually arrived late, and we missed the actual dunking! But we did catch the end program, and the spirit was very strong. The best part was that our president, President King gave Kyle, Natalia, Elder Tait, and I a ride home. I must say that the simple act of President King giving us a ride home in his car had a huge impact on Natalia and Kyle! They felt very special to be in his somewhat luxurius car, with the huge, gringo, president and his wife. The little, extra things that we do frequently have an impact much bigger than we can ever see.

We found some new investigatores this week, and we invited them to church, Claudio, Javier, and Scarlett. They´re all kids with 13-15 years, live right in front of the church, therefore, it was pretty simple to run over and pick them up right before the meeting started, although as a product we did almost miss the sacrament! They all enjoyed the meetings and the ward did a truly terrific job of helping them out, of befriending them, just like good mormons should;)

I love you all! I testify that Jesus IS our savior, that we can overcome everysingle weakness, problem, challenge, etc. that we have in this life through his atonement. The mission is a great, grand, wonderful crash course in problem solving, ha! I testify that the Book of Mormon is true, that this is Christ´s Church, that God our Father loves and knows us- every one. Why would this be important? What´s so grand about these things? What do you think? What could we gain from the above information?

Thats a darn good question!

Love you all,

Elder Tasso
