October 21, 2013 Yo sé que viveeeeee miii SEÑOR!!

We´ve been praying for a service opportunity these days past. Well, we got a call, and what do you know but SATURDAY we were off to paint a Catholic resting home! So we went to Cottolengo, and painted as a zone 4 rooms. It´s a school for old folks, those with handicaps, and orphans! The spirit there was..... powerful. Those are pure pure souls:) The best was that we got the service opportunity from some dandy members in El Parron, La cisterna, my first area! I got to see Clara and Gonzalo Garrido again, Catalina, and her BF oscar! ¨Oscar, why would you read the BoM?¨ I don´t know, really... Well... I know that it´s true, was translated by Joseph smith.... Will you read it and pray to know that it´s true?....."
We were able to share with Oscar there, and he committed to reading and praying about it. All this time, he´d seen it, had it, but no one ever took a few minutes to explain what it is.
God loves Oscar, and WE DO TOO!
Marco is super great. Came to Stake Conference yesterday for an hour, after we taught him about church, the commandments, etc. He gave Elder Hasler a really funny/bad(ish) hair cut!!!! Ha:) I testify that the atonement is real, this guy coming from being drunk for a month, not bathing for that time, is now feeling something very special in church. He´ll be bapztied the 17 of November.
Daniel and Carlos are both super dandy, good friends. "Carlos will you be baptized the 27th of OCT?" Hmmm....... 15 seconds of silence after the prayer. I thinnkkkkkkkk..... still no:)
Daniel is super ballin, but the same story, he says he needs time. We felt the inspiration to invite Hno Manquin to come with us yesterday to the lesson, a great member who FOR SOME REASON, WE HAD NEVER invited before!!!! Why o Why not?!!! He shared a powerful testimony, and Daniel commited to making time to read and pray.
We really need news! As a zone! Help us with your prayer power! It works, I testify of that:)

I´ve really felt your prayers, members have been helping and inspiring us, sharing with us from PreachMyGospel, offering investigatores and NfEs for us! Thanks and keep it up!
Your testifying and challenging friend,

October 14, 2013 This Week!

Marcos! We had a great lesson with Marcos, our haircutting ninja (cut my hair, DURING the lesson, pretty sweet:) ) investigator. He acepts the BoM super easily, and is getting to know more! Today on the phone he said Ï´ve felt your prayers!¨ Which we owe to the ward! The Ward is praying for him and our other investigatores by name! He´s got 2 kids, is a recovering alcholic, dresses like a g, and is a child of God. I know that our heavenly father hears and answeres our prayers, they are FELT!

¨Second, pray for the missionaries serving in your area and their investigators by name every day. The only way to do this is to greet them, look at their badge, call them by name, and ask them who they are teaching. Elder Russell M. Nelson wisely contributed, “Until you know a person’s name and face, the Lord cannot help you know his or her heart.”

Daniel, Fransico y Giovanni! So Genesis was going to be confirmed, BUT she was a little sick. We didn´t know that, we thought that she was just..... slow, ha. So we left the ¨99 and went to look for the 1,¨ so to speak, leaving sunday school. As we´re leaving the chapel, a new friend of ours from Spain called our attentioin, ¨Fransisco.¨ He lifted his arms up right in front of the fence, so we thought, hey this guy needs a church tour! He accepts, and sitting in the chapel, we ask him ¨how do you feel here, in this envirnment?¨ ¨Super peaceful! I work in a car assembly factory, I love it here, it´s very calm.¨

Giovanni, from Coloumbia came to church Sunday after filing some paper work, looking for work. His mom was a missionary, but he was never baptized nor taught many things, he fears death and doesn´t understand why he´s still on this earth, but carries a BIG smile and it was a rare moment that he stopped talking, ha!:) After he came to church, we invited him to eat lunch with us at the home of Daniel Sanhueza, one of our investigatores homes. What a miracle it was, as he works in construction and one of the brothers there has a company! ¨you need work, know how to weld, mig, tik, and arc? ¨Oh si si si señor!!..........¨  I testify that as we put the sabbath day 1st, just as it happened with Giovanni, we will see miracles.

Carlos! We had one good lesson with Carlos. We broke down a wall with a sledge hammer, and put in a new door. That is to say, Elder Hasler and Carlos and I did it, I cut fruit in the kitchen:) There wasn´t much more room:(  After, we shared with him and invited him to churhc. he said ¨I know the BoM is true, it´s good so how could it not be?! I want to be baptized, but I feel like I need more.... desire! Time!¨ Any advice to help our good friend Carlos recognize his answer, and makehis decision?!

Say thanks and Hi to Lon Lott for me! He told me once i was a hard worker, that first time I was working with him on a project, first starting. It was hard, but GOOD!

It´s Elder Hasler´s b-day today. We ate big hotdogs with the zone!

The atonement heals our wounded souls, as it is mine, yours, and those above! This is the Church of Christ on the earth!  18 Come now, and let us areason together, saith the Lord: though your bsins be as scarlet, they shall be as cwhite as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

October 7, 2013

Changes were this morning....Still with Elder Tasso for another 6 weeks! Sweet! Elder Campos and Moffett, our pension buddies, got changed, so that was kinda sad...but We have a bunch of new missionaries in the zone, so it will be great to get to know them all!

We were contacting an investigator this week and she wasn't home, and we looked across the street, and there was a guy standing outside his door waving and motioning for us to go over there. Marcos, a seemingly well kept man of about 50 years,  invited us in, poured us some drinks, goes to his room and came back with his book of mormon and his bible, and wanted us to give him classes. We started talking about the book of mormon and the gospel and he began to express his serious drinking and depression problems. He desperately wanted and needed help, and I was so happy to know that we have the gospel of Jesus Christ to be able to help him out. I know we are going to be able to lift him out of this life ruining addiction, and only with the power of the Book of Mormon.

Conference was incredible! Give more hugs, smile and pray, testify always... because we are all friends!

Elder Hasler and I got challenged by a member to read the Book of Mormon in 10 days. We are doing it. Its nearly 70 pages a day in spanish....The spirit is incredible. I´m so grateful for prayer, and for the book of mormon. I´ve been waking up early to study, @ 6.45, 7. I love the peace that comes from drinking in, testifying, and inviting that comes from that book.

Daniel really progresed as he listened to Sister and Brother Venegas´s testimonies, of the mission, the church, the BoM. We´re STOKED for him, he´s got a date for the 20th of october, with Belen, Marcos and Daniel for the 27th. They´re all so great, and have felt your prayers, as have we. Thanks!

Satan is real. Don´t let into our families. Their was a lame situacion in our zone this week, 4 sisters had changes and Veronica and Roxana are angry at the church... ha:) That´s ok, we´ll put our trust in God. It all started with a lack of good, honest communication. We´re all different, we can´t and shouldn´t be the same. Thats ok!  Conference's spiritual boost was very necessary. There were some minor (understatement) issues that we had with some sister missionaries this week...We gave them a simple invitation to be more obedient, and they didnt exactly take it well...Some members got involved, and they both ended up getting transferred from the ward, and it was a big messy fiasco. Things are better now, and with time, all will be well.
I testify from the bottom of my heart that Jesus Christ is my Savior, he is your savior:) Life is rough, it´s life, but I´m so grateful for him. I testify that he called a profet, a man, Joseph Smith to translate the Book of Mormon to our families, to help us repair broken hearts and relacionships. I testify that God IS our loving father in heaven, and we can talk with him through prayer always, in every context and moment!

Its pretty amazing how our questions get answered in general conference.
Conference was seriously awesome. It was so great to feel spiritually filled. President Monson really is a prophet. I loved the following words "Christ didn't write his law on the stone tablets, but he wrote it on the hearts of the people."

I know that Christ lives, and that the atonement really does have the power to change. People, personalities, situations, whatever it be, he can do it. I have really learned to depend on prayer, and depend that my heavenly father will truly lift and carry us. As  I say, In God, We Trust.
