January 13, 2014

I feel happy reading of Jesus in the BoM. My portuegues is progressing.
A short time back I pulled a few weeds from the garden. Ha, Garden?? Not yet... I cleaned them up and took them out front. Pretty nifty eh?
I feel happy listening to all of the conference talks. As I´m/we´re getting ready, we listen almost constantly, also in portugues. I´m understanding almost everything! Eh, eh?? Eh?

Elder Graham-face is the bomb. Get this! Best companion ever. He offered to buy me a ¨CHAPARRITA.¨ Hot dog, cheese, bread. MMmmm. He gave me his grapes. Elder Graham is Christ like. I love to run. He likes to do squats. He sits outside, in front of the house, allowing to run up and down the street in the morning. ¨Hey neighbor!¨ ¨Hey Luis, thanks for watering! ¨ ¨Have a great day at work!¨ Spin move. Truly it means a lot to me that he lets me run. I feel happy, grateful for him.

41 And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and ahappy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are bblessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out cfaithful to the end they are received into dheaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.

We ate lunch in one hour. We left the house, and we call to our Neighbor. He had always rejected us before, but THIS time Hernanan says to us, ¨Pasen!¨ (Come right in!) He´s pretty excited about the BoM:) Me too.

Alex didn´t make it to church. BUT he did lead the scout troop in games and made time to play soccer with the church!:) Ha, I´m not sure God will ok that. He´ll be baptized later, most likely not THIS saturday but he next. Will you continue to pray for Señor Hermano Alex Lopez? I will!  I promise your prayers really do take effect in our lives.

Alberto is a champ. ¨Hey will you watch this Joseph Smith movie?¨ Yes! Heck yes I´d love to! And he did. He´s excited about the BoM, has LOTS of questions about Joseph Smith. Will you cotinue to pray for him?

It was hard to teach piano to 8 people this past week. We have one piano? Don´t worry next week, I commit to bringing a keyboard and having a theory class. I feel happy that so many people want to develop talents, be at church, learn new things, have an eternal family.

My goals, and letter to Pres. Barreiros:

My goals for this year are... I commit to getting up at 6:30 to read the Book of Mormon king in Portuguese . I've been doing it , I love to start the morning in that way. I commit to study at 9:00 every day. I feel much happier doing so . I commit to leaving at 12:30 / 11:30 every day. It was just ok this week , BUT we promise to leave at 12:30 EVERY day this week.

We promise to get home on time every day , we do well there. The other goal is to bed on time at night. I commit to going to bed every day at 11:30 this week . It went well, 5/7 this week.
Baptize 1+ monthly.
I commit to eating better, that I will only eat fruit and drink water at night:)

Memorizing a scripture a day, easy, something small ! Make 1+ service per day for my companion. Be joyful, happy, obedient, pure, and clean!

At BYU , Utah, I commit to 4.0, go to the temple every week , index names, magnify my calling and my home teaching. Study PME and LdM every day for 30 + minutes in another language , get married before the year, start a business of production of video, or inflatable , etc.

God lives and loves us, Christ is a light that will never be extinguished, he lives and loves us. Obedience brings blessings, and miralces. Joseph smith is a prophet of God! The Book of Mormon, prayer, smooth our errorers. I testify that every time we ask for a misionary opportunity, God WILL send us such:)
This is his church!

Jesus Christ Lives and loves us! And we will obey!

New years eve looks like this. Pension at 8:00! Howdy, how was your day?! Mmmmm good good good! Calls:) Want to clean the pension? Yes!

French class. There was a less active couple (now active) that is teaching a french class saturday at 7:00! Ouvoi! That was fun, one of our investigatores, Fransisca, came, and enjoyed it, almost as much as I did!

English was fun! Fransisca liked it, Elder Graham and I taught ¨20 verbs¨ and ¨how firm a foundation¨in English. What´s not to like?:)

We went to ¨Old Chile¨, Pomaire today. Check out this miracle. "Want to split an empanada? Ya! The 1 kilo mushroom! Oh wait, turns out to be just mushroom, not 1 kilo. That´s ok, because Elder Graham, my most humble,  supportive companion to date, says, ¨Dig in, Elder Tasso.¨ Love that kid.

"Alex Lopez will you prepare to be baptized the 19th?" "Oh yes, oh yes!" He´s so funny. SUPER happy, smiling. He will be  a great misionary. His english is progressing: Oh yes, oh yes, excellent, I like!

Cristobal is the observant, reserved, intelligent kid. He´ll be at a FhE tonight, came yesterday to the YSA activity and met some friends. Miracle: I thought of leaving to do a visit. We decided to stay and support the group. There IS  power in numbers. Alex got a tour, commited to the 19th, Jose is a new investigator, etc. I think we all need a sense of belonging, of being togethor. Sometimes I feel like it´s easier to work alone, but satan wants us to do that. I felt happy that we chose to stay and support the group! That was a miracle.

We found flor and Nelson as we were contacting. Lots of smoke from the foothill fires. Ash. We hadn´t had much success. One more house before Lunch. They say no, we walk away, say a prayer for them. They call us back, YES! SUCCESS! God lives and loves us, wants us to push ourselves and persevere.

I think i fell in love mom and dad. Sorry. Buttttt....    With Christ. Do you ever feel like if your not working for him, it´s .... hollow? or Not worth it? I do.
Christ is my savior, my redeemer.

I love Jesus and the BoM.

December 31, 2013 The BIG Scoop: Get this 2.0

Alex Lopez. Gets 3 points for being the fastest kid in the world. Smile, run, kick, goal, woo yea, smile, hahaha, read? mmmm.... He is like lighting. Get that. He is progressing, and well, thouroughly enjoyed church, walked over to meet up with US Sunday, wore a neat sweater and such. Hno Molina says to him ¨Alex, you deserve to know, you really need to feel in YOUR heart the desire to be baptized, the truth of the BoM, have you felt a burning? Will you ask, will you read and will you pray to arrive at that point? You NEED to know and when you do your baptism will be something oh so natural! Amen. He´s a happy kid, lives with his grandparents. Elder Alfaro said something interesting, that his Grandparents, would feel a greater securtiy with his membership in the church. Well, will you pray for our beloved friend so that he has the desire to have his own conviction?!:) Thanks!

Alberto gets 5 points for the good neighbor award. Elder Graham me dice, ¨Want to rest?¨ Honestly, I´m pretty antsy, Not really. But we give it some good nap time, I dream of ears and mouths. God gave me two ears to listen, one mouth to speak. I think he wants me to listen more than speak.
We pray and leave the apartment. Alberto says, ¨These seasons make me feel... a little sad... a little lonely. I saw you guys playing, was going to come over to play, but didn´t want to be a bother. Oh Alberto. Don´t be so bashful. :) He´s the bomb!
"Saturday at church, I felt very very welcomed by all the members, It´s a rare experience that I´ve felt that way before.
Elder Graham and I take the tag team ninja approuch, and Alberto will continue reading and praying. Hug. Prayer? So that Alberto continues to have the desire to read, pray, explore, attend, and get to know.

Elder Jake Hasler gets the tall kid points for the week! Merry christmas to you Elder Tasso, here is my offering of a Pregar Meu Evangelho in Portuegues! Sometimes you just gotta accept something so great like that. Love that kid.

Happy new year! Want to clean the pension with us? No no no, I´M CLEANING THE BATHROOM! Maybe we´ll get in a little Joseph Smith Profet of the Restoration action.

Tuvimos 62 bautismos, esto es un marco histórico de superación. Sepan que ustedes pueden hacer. Con la ayuda del Senor Jesucristo podemos hacer todas las cosas que El juzgue conveniente Moroni 7:33.

God loves us. I am ever trying to put my will in his hands. Accept his correction and change. He love us so much. I testify that Thomas Monson is a prophet seer and revelator of God. I love to listen to his words.

Will you pray for misionary oportunities?
