October 7, 2013

Changes were this morning....Still with Elder Tasso for another 6 weeks! Sweet! Elder Campos and Moffett, our pension buddies, got changed, so that was kinda sad...but We have a bunch of new missionaries in the zone, so it will be great to get to know them all!

We were contacting an investigator this week and she wasn't home, and we looked across the street, and there was a guy standing outside his door waving and motioning for us to go over there. Marcos, a seemingly well kept man of about 50 years,  invited us in, poured us some drinks, goes to his room and came back with his book of mormon and his bible, and wanted us to give him classes. We started talking about the book of mormon and the gospel and he began to express his serious drinking and depression problems. He desperately wanted and needed help, and I was so happy to know that we have the gospel of Jesus Christ to be able to help him out. I know we are going to be able to lift him out of this life ruining addiction, and only with the power of the Book of Mormon.

Conference was incredible! Give more hugs, smile and pray, testify always... because we are all friends!

Elder Hasler and I got challenged by a member to read the Book of Mormon in 10 days. We are doing it. Its nearly 70 pages a day in spanish....The spirit is incredible. I´m so grateful for prayer, and for the book of mormon. I´ve been waking up early to study, @ 6.45, 7. I love the peace that comes from drinking in, testifying, and inviting that comes from that book.

Daniel really progresed as he listened to Sister and Brother Venegas´s testimonies, of the mission, the church, the BoM. We´re STOKED for him, he´s got a date for the 20th of october, with Belen, Marcos and Daniel for the 27th. They´re all so great, and have felt your prayers, as have we. Thanks!

Satan is real. Don´t let into our families. Their was a lame situacion in our zone this week, 4 sisters had changes and Veronica and Roxana are angry at the church... ha:) That´s ok, we´ll put our trust in God. It all started with a lack of good, honest communication. We´re all different, we can´t and shouldn´t be the same. Thats ok!  Conference's spiritual boost was very necessary. There were some minor (understatement) issues that we had with some sister missionaries this week...We gave them a simple invitation to be more obedient, and they didnt exactly take it well...Some members got involved, and they both ended up getting transferred from the ward, and it was a big messy fiasco. Things are better now, and with time, all will be well.
I testify from the bottom of my heart that Jesus Christ is my Savior, he is your savior:) Life is rough, it´s life, but I´m so grateful for him. I testify that he called a profet, a man, Joseph Smith to translate the Book of Mormon to our families, to help us repair broken hearts and relacionships. I testify that God IS our loving father in heaven, and we can talk with him through prayer always, in every context and moment!

Its pretty amazing how our questions get answered in general conference.
Conference was seriously awesome. It was so great to feel spiritually filled. President Monson really is a prophet. I loved the following words "Christ didn't write his law on the stone tablets, but he wrote it on the hearts of the people."

I know that Christ lives, and that the atonement really does have the power to change. People, personalities, situations, whatever it be, he can do it. I have really learned to depend on prayer, and depend that my heavenly father will truly lift and carry us. As  I say, In God, We Trust.
